Material: A36 or 1018 carbon steel
Specifications: Total of 8 welded specimens as listed below.
- 2 Butt Welds w/ V Groove, (1) @ 0.375” T and (1) @ 0.75” T each 6” (weld length) x 8”
- 2 Butt Welds w/ V Groove w/ Backing Bar, (1) @ 0.375” T and (1) @ 0.75” T each 6” (weld length) x 8”
- 2 Tee Welds w/ Single Groove, (1) @ 0.375” T and (1) @ 0.75” T each 6” (weld length) x 4” (main) x 7” (branch)
- 2 Tee Welds w/ Single Groove w/ Backing Bar, (1) @ 0.375” T and (1) @ 0.75” T each 6” (weld length) x 4” (main) x 7” (branch)
Flaws:
- Total of 20 (~2 – 3 per specimen) sub-surface and surface breaking flaws randomly placed throughout the volume of the weld. The flaw sizes will vary from approximately +1” to -0.5” in length and +/- 0.25” in height.

Weld Condition:
- Surface condition of the crown and root will be “as welded”.
